Some of the options include fully adhered PVC or mechanically fastened PVC. Fastenings can be tailored to your roof, and the winds it experiences. Double welds are another option to provide the best attachment for your building.

Typically, the PVC membranes are approximately 45 mil thick and weigh about 0.25 pounds for every square foot. As new PVC membranes are developed, they are gaining durability without sacrificing the benefit of being lightweight.

The flexible PV cells can be attached directly to the PVC roofing membranes to provide the substrate with conformability and a greater resistance to impact with penetration through the membrane of the roof that is significantly reduced.

Compared to the sheet itself, welded seams can be much stronger. This is advantageous for vegetated roofs where people are concerned with the penetration of roots.
